City police investigate robbery at wholesale

POLICE in Port Moresby are investigating a major robbery at the Bismillah wholesale in Port Moresby last week.
National Capital District Metropolitan Superintendent Benjamin Turi, pictured, told The National that about K1 million was taken from the shop.
He said the robbery occurred around 11.30 am last Friday.
He said police believe it was an inside job.
“It is more like a clean inside job,” Turi told The National.
“They knew where the money was and they went in straight got it, and came out.
“There were about six people involved in the robbery.
He said the NCD criminal investigations team were at the scene last Friday and carried out investigations on the incident.
