A new building for Finschhafen Technical College at Gagidu township in Morobe will cater for academic, recreational and other activities to support the school.
The building was funded under the Finschhafen district development authority for K250,00 to help the college.
College manager Navis Kongos said being one of the oldest educational institutions in the district, it was encouraging to see DDA under outgoing Finschhafen MP and parliament speaker Theodore Zurenouc taking the initiative to provide funding.
“It is a very genuine need for the school as many of our buildings in the school were built long ago and the structures are falling apart,” Kongos said.
“The new multi-purpose building is sure to help a lot in terms of generating income for the school as well as doing other school-oriented activities.”
Kongos said the building was built by the college building and carpentry students and was near completion.
“It will be ready for hire for events from outside groups or organisations and interested groups wishing to hire for use are welcome,” he said.
