Communities commended

EAST New Britain’s regional member Sir Leo Dion has commended communities hosting tertiary education institutions for taking ownership of the facilities.
The institutions include the University of Natural Resources and Environment, Kerevat National High School, Gaulim Teachers College, Divine Word University Kabaleo campus, Divine Word University Vunapope campus, Sonoma Technical College, Ulapia Secondary Teacher Training College, Kokopo Business College, Bismark Elementary Teacher Training College plus technical and vocational training colleges.
“This is so (that) the institutions can continue to fulfil their objectives in an environment that allows the full realisation of their status as part of investment towards human resource development and nation building,” he said.
He said the Gaulim Teachers College since its establishment in 1966 had seen a lot of progress and development in the past 50 years.
