Consultant signs up for pageant

BUSINESS consultant Rose Lakore Pitoi is entering the Miss Pacific Island Pageant PNG because it promotes culture and showcases talent and beauty.
Pitoi, 23, is sponsored by the International Training Institute.
Four other girls have already entered the contest.
“I see this as an avenue to voice my opinion on various issues affecting women and girls and to be an agent for change,” Pitoi said.
Pitoi is employed by bmobile-Vodafone as a business consultant.
She was associated with Soroptimist International in 2014 and 2015 because of her involvement in public speaking.
She won the club competition in Port Moresby and Lae, then went on to present her winning speech at the 20th Soroptimist International Conference in Istanbul, Turkey.
Deputy chairwoman of the pageant in PNG Molly Rau O’Rourke said they believed in educating young women because it was a key to the success and prosperity of the nation.
The pageant has raised more than K500,000 for its scholarship fund and assisted 152 girls from around the country to complete their education.
