A PORT Moresby-based police officer charged with unlawfully damaging 55 flower pots belonging to a colleague escaped from custody at the Boroko cells last Friday.
Constable Roman Anton, 29, from Makumanda village, Laiagam, in Enga, an investigator at the Boroko Police Station, was arrested and charged with three counts under the Summary Offences

He was charged with use of threatening words, unlawful entry of premises and damaging 55 flower pots belonging to senior officer Mirriam Bob at the Morata Police Barracks in Port Moresby on Aug 19.
According to police, Anton escaped from custody soon after he was arrested last Friday and failed to be processed before he makes an appearance at the Boroko District Court.
