COUNTING for Abau Open in Central started on a slow mode on Monday and is progressing smoothly, according to the returning officer Lawrence Baro.
“Because we have started on a slow mode on Monday, we are planning to count roughly five boxes per day,” he said.
The 28 boxes for Abau district are being counted at the Aroma Coast Council Chamber building at Kupiano station.
“My counting officials did not complain about any allowances or so and we are progressing well,” he said.
“Their allowances are ready and we will pay them soon after they complete two to three boxes per day.”
Baro hopes to declare Abau MP late next week.
