Crittin declared as Milne Bay governor

TITUS Philemon took over the Milne Bay governorship from Sir John Crittin in 2012 and this week the roles completed a full cycle with Sir John back at the helm.
People’s National Congress Party member Sir John was declared governor-elect on Sunday, finishing with 46,731 votes and surpassing the absolute majority of 40,219.
Philemon, who polled 33,704, was at hand to hand over the reign.
Businessman Crittin was governor of Milne Bay for a term in 2007(until 2012).
Milne Bay, the host of People’s National Congress’s camp to plot the next government, now has four members out of the five seats, three open and one regional.
Member-elect for Murua open Isi Henry Leonard belongs to PNG Party.
The three open candidates who retained their open seats are Charles Abel (Alotau open), Davis Steven (Esa’ala)  and Douglas Tomuriesa (Kiriwina-Goodenough). A handful of PNC candidates who arrived for the camp on Sunday, witnessed Crittin’s declaration.
Provincial election manager Dadu Daga said he felt satisfied to finally return the writs of the four electorates in Milne Bay and the regional seat.
