CHIEF Secretary Isaac Lupari has condemned Treasury and National Planning officers for not releasing funds allocated to hospitals in the country.
Lupari said the Government had been allocating funds for hospitals but they did not get them.
“And we are wondering why the hospitals were not getting the money. In August, the Port Moresby General Hospital did not get the money and the chief executive officer called me up saying he needs K4 million but only got K1m,” he said.
“I told him that in August we had sent the money. What happened to that money? He was accusing me of telling lies.
“Prime Minister Peter O’Neill then accused the CEO for lying. So we realised that something wrong was happening somewhere.”
