Dei MP sponsors student teachers

DEI MP Wesley Nukundi has paid Jiwaka Teachers College (JTC) K396,500 in fees for Dei students.
The payment was made under the electorate’s corporate sponsorship programme which is benefiting students attending tertiary institutions in the country and abroad.
The cheque was presented to college director Paul Siwi by the Dei district programme coordinator and education officer Batamai Tipi in Mt Hagen last Tuesday.
Tipi said that this funding will benefit 122 Dei students who are doing their first and second years at JTC.
He said that under the corporate sponsorship programme, institutions in Jiwaka have received almost K1 million from the MP’s office this year.
Tipi said that since Nukundi entered parliament almost half of the electorate’s funding has been spent on education.
“We will continue to run this programme and make sure Dei produces more educated elites in Western Highlands,” Tipi said.
“We will continue to run this programme even after the elections because we have seen its fruits.
“Education is a very important area that will be used to develop the human resources in the electorate.”.
Dei student’s leader James Lewa said that the MP’s support would help them to complete their education.
