THE Department of Labour and Industrial Relations plans to have an office in Popondetta to serve Northern, according to Secretary Mary Morola.
Morola said the department was looking for office space and were requesting assistance from Governor Gary Juffa.
“Right now we do not have office space in Popondetta because our officers have been locked out,” she said.
“We don’t want to get ourselves bogged down with the current tenancy so I have directed the team to secure another office space.
“I sent officers out on Sunday and they will investigate and give me the report.”
The labour office used to be at the Maoro Motor building which had to be closed after it was condemned by authorities.
Juffa said the Oro government would assist if there was a formal request from the department.
Meanwhile, the Oro provincial executive council complex is  soon to be completed.
It is expected that the Labour department will be allocated an office space within the complex upon completion.
