MOROBE police commander Chief Supt Augustine Wampe is disappointed over a lack of support from the Finschhafen administration to help diffuse tension in interior Pindiu, Hube where tribal fighting and killing have continued.
Killing and destruction have also continued in  Sialum in Tewae-Siassi. In Pindiu, a ruthless battle has taken place since 2014, which started from land mediation between Nayalo and Genna, that left three dead and properties destroyed.
Fighting resurfaced in July-August 2015 and an auxiliary policeman was killed at Pindiu station.
In early February, a man was killed after two clans in Yauwo village fought over land.
“The police are prepared to intervene but Finschhafen administration is reluctant to assist us in logistics,” Wampe said.
“The fighting and killing are far from over, yet the district administration is turning a blind eye to it.
“Where is the law and order money from the DSIP funds, people are dying like no one’s business.
