TWO men charged with wilful murder have been committed to stand trial at the National Court in Lae.
Lae District Court Magistrate Jeremiah Singomat said there was enough evidence against Sony Yauri, 20, from Ono village in Usino Bundi, and Willie Gedion, 20, from Asai in Middle Ramu, Madang to stand trial.
Police alleged that Yauri and Gedion stabbed Wapi Samson causing his death on April 1 at the water supply compound in Bulolo.
The fight was allegedly over a K2 which a group of youths had demanded from Gedion.
In another case, Paul Robert, 21, from Yakop village in Kabwum, and Robin Momoring, 30, from the Morobe Patrol Post would be tried in the National Court over a robbery case.
Police alleged that on May 1, Robert and Momoring were part of a gang who held up employees of the BNBM Home Centre in Lae.
They made off with more than K8000 and items worth almost K40,000.
