ENB govt funds road

POMIO district has received K600,000 from the East New Britain government to construct a road along the southern coast.
Governor Ereman ToBaining Jr gave the cheque for K600,000 to Pomio MP Elias Kapavore who handed it over to Tzen Niugini chief executive officer Tan Eng Kwee.
The fund was from the provincial support improvement programme for the construction of the 7.8 kilometre road.
ToBaining said the road would connect Pomio district to Kokopo and allow the people to travel to Kokopo by road rather than by sea.
ToBaining thanked Tzen Niugini for being a significant development partner through the public-private partnership concept.
“We have outstanding commitments and projects captured in our provincial budget. We are making efforts in ensuring that processes are followed correctly before services are delivered to the people,” he said.
Kapavore said the project was a “work in progress.
A step at a time will get us to the end of the road. It will bring positive changes to my people,” he said.
