Engineer lifts Tarangau

PORT Moresby Rugby League club Tarangau has received a timely sponsorship from a Western Highlands businessman based in Lae, Morobe.
Classic Engineering Construction Ltd owner James Kennedy handed over three sets of jerseys in the club’s traditional colours and sporting equipment worth over K25,000.
Kennedy said his firm would continue their sponsorship of the club, depending on the financial situation.
He said rugby league was about discipline and not fighting on and off the field of play.
He said any bad conduct by the club officials or players would also give a bad image to his firm.
The three sets of uniforms were for the senior men’s, women’s and the Under-20 men’s teams.
Tarangau has traditionally been a club made up of officers and staff from the PNG Correctional Service.
Correctional Services commissioner Michael Waipo said: “These new uniforms have given us pride to play to the best of our abilities and make the finals this season.”
