KWAK Bum-Soo has presented his credentials as the ambassador of the Republic of Korea to acting Governor-General Theo Zurenuoc.
Kwak Bum-Soo replaces Kim Seong-Choon.
Zurenuoc said Papua New Guinea and the Republic of Korea formalised diplomatic relations in 1976 and continued to expand in their relations. He said Papua New Guinea valued Korea’s development and technical assistance which had contributed to national development.
“You will note that the exchange of high-level visits between our two countries has been growing steadily in recent years,” he said.
He said national leaders and Government officials from both countries had been using Asean and Apec gatherings to exchange views on issues of common interest.
Zurenuoc told Kwak Bum-Soo that he was confident he would continue the excellent working relations his predecessor had with the Government and people of Papua New Guinea.
