Fairfax officials laud president’s appointment

EXECUTIVES of Fairfax Volleyball Association in National Capital District have congratulated their association founder Kila Dick for his appointment as president of the Papua New Guinea Volleyball Federation.
Dick was elected to the post during the federation’s meeting last Friday.
The Fairfax Volleyball Association founder and president beat his sole rival Turaho Morea 16 votes to become the 43rd PNGFV president. Volleyball Fairfax Association secretary Ezekiel Vene congratulated Dick on behalf of the executives, club managers, coaches and players.
Vene said Dick moves into the top job with a lot of experience as a representative player and a long-time administrator in the code.
He said there was nothing to be boastful about but the truth was that Dick had always been a magnanimous person with a big heart — especially for volleyball.
“Dick is determined to take this sporting code to a next level,” he Vene said. “He is a vocal critic and works harder than other (sports) administrators.”
Kila Oli, who was appointed the vice-president of the volleyball federation, also congratulated Dick on his appointment.
“May God truly guide you as you lead the administration of this wonderful sport,” Oli said. “I trust that your committee will take volleyball to new and greater heights.”
