THREE farmer cooperative groups in Morobe have received new vehicles.
They are from Lower Watut (cocoa), Buang (coffee) and Yalumet.
Morobe Governor Kelly Naru handed over the keys to the three chairmen of the cooperative societies.
The vehicles cost more than K429,000.
“The delivery of such economic projects marked a milestone in the history of Morobe to deliver economic empowerment services, especially to rural places in the province,” Naru said.
“Morobe is a unique place with different districts having different challenges and diversity in needs and services.
“The (Morobe) government is challenged to deliver the five essential pillars of services.
“We can only deliver services if there is cooperation and dialogue among all stakeholders in the province which is also essential in nation building.”
Naru said he was proud to improving the living standards of people in remote areas in Morobe.
He told the farmers to take care of the vehicles which should support them in transporting their produce to the market.
