A team from Fifa’s Zurich headquarters will be in Port Moresby to run a workshop for the local organising committee and its stakeholders in preparation for the Under-20 Women’s World Cup in November.
Attending the workshop will be representatives from the 15 participating teams of the Fifa tournment, including PNG.
The workshop will involve meetings with the media, team services, marketing and venue managers, including visits to the match venues, training sites and hotels.
Meetings with the media will involve discussions around how operations will work on match days, while the meeting with the marketing team will involve speaking with potential national supporters and the requirements with regard to branding and marketing.
The workshop is also for the team representatives to see the facilities they will be using as well  and what to expect when they arrive in November.
Local organising committee chief executive officer Seamus Marten said the workshop was a good time for the team representatives to learn about the country.
He said that with less than 80 days to go, preparations were ramping up to ensure that everything was set for kickoff on Nov 13.
“We’ve recruited team liaison officers to assist the teams during their stay.
