Fifa U20 World Cup to help inspire women

The Fifa Under-20 Women’s World Cup’s local organising committee made a presentation before participants at the 3rd National Sports Conference.
The three-day conference held at the Sir John Guise Stadium indoor complex for sports administrators around the country and attended by a number of International speakers were given a glimpse of what to expect when the LOC hosts the World Cup from November 13 to December 3.
Chief executive officer Seamus Marten thanked the PNG Sports Foundation for the opportunity to be able to share with the participants an update of the progress of preparations so far.
Marten highlighted that a key objective of hosting this Fifa U20 event was to inspire women and to highlight issues affecting young women.
Marten said the tournament, which will see 16 of the best footballing nations compete, was an opportunity to showcase Papua New Guinea and prove to the world the country was capable of hosting major sporting events.
