PORT Moresby Rugby League trailblazers Hohola Flies’ utility Kambi Igiman will lead his side against the highly-favoured Paga Panthers in the grand final at the National Football Stadium on Sunday.
Igiman, 19, from Surinki in Enga, and his young unit are the surprise pack of the competition.
“This will be a big challenge for us against Paga, who have former PNG Hunters Joe Bruno and Roger Laka,” Igiman said.
“We have come a long way, beating all odds to sneak into the finals after edging Tarangau 8-6 in the preliminary final.”
Igiman will be supported by Jack Manda, John Andy and former Paga player Benton Leme.
“Paga are the favourites to win the premiership but as underdogs, we’re determined to upset them at all costs.”
PRL deputy chairman Wari Varage was full of praise for Hohola Flies, who made their way up to the finals from a low ranking in the season.
