France U20s unwind with visit to national museum, art gallery

VISITING the PNG National Museum and Art Gallery yesterday was part of the French team’s preparation leading up to the semi-final at Sir John Guise Stadium tonight.
Coach Gilles Eyquem said yesterday was a rest day and a good time to visit places of interest to rest their minds after physical training.
“We did it before the game against Germany and now we face Japan.
We hope to achieve the same result tomorrow night (today),” the coach said. “The players were enjoying it very much visiting the Port Moresby Nature Park last week and now the National Museum.
“They will have plenty of stories to tell when they return home,” he said.
“We are here just relaxing our minds and will get back to training in the evening before the game tomorrow,” he said.
When asked about the game against Japan, Eyquem said: “Japan is a very strong team but we are not taking them lightly. We came this far in 1994 to lose to Germany in Canada and this time, we will not let this one slip by.”
Eyquem is expecting a strong game tomorrow, and his aim is to score in the first-half and defend that as they did against Germany.
