ELECTORAL Commissioner Patilias Gamato is confident that the counting of votes will end before the return of writs on July 24.
Gamato said yesterday the rate the whole election exercise was progressing meant that the 111 writs would be returned on that day.
“I am confident of this by the progress we are making,” he said.
“We actually allocated two weeks for counting. Towards the end of this week or over the weekend, we might see more seats being declared,” Gamato said.
“But if some seats are yet to be declared on that day, he will allow the counting process to continue.”
Meanwhile, Gamato said most of the provinces had completed polling.
