Gamato refutes claims

Electoral Commissioner Patilias Gamato has refuted claims that he was being biased in declaring winners for People’s National Congress party candidates.
Gamato told a media conference last Friday that the statement by Sinasina-Yongomugl MP and candidate Kerenga Kua was wrong.
He clarified that if electorates have completed their polling they could allow two to three days for preparations and go straight into counting. He said those electorates who were finishing counting earlier were the ones who started counting earlier or have few objections and delays.
“If his electorate in Sinasina-Yongomugl was completed earlier, they can declare him and I would be happy and ready to accept his writ like anothers.”
