GG ink contract for loop road in SHP

GOVERNOR General Bob Dadae signed a contract on the behalf of the State for the construction and improvement work of a loop road in Pangia, Southern Highlands.
The construction of  the Pangia-Wiru Loop Road under the Highlands region road improvement investment programme includes funding for maintenance and contingencies and is jointly funded by the Asian Development Bank (loan), European Union (grant) and the Government.
The contract is valued at K89m of which K79m is for improvement work and K9.5m for long-term performance-based maintenance services.
The construction and maintenance work of the  road will start in Pangia and extend to William village, covering 31.4km.
The contract was awarded to China Overseas Engineering Company Ltd (Covec).
Covec company representatives Arthur Woo and Ding Shi signed the contract, witnessed by Works Secretary David Wereh at Government House yesterday.
