GOVERNOR-General Sir Michael Ogio has returned home after he was discharged from a hospital in Brisbane, Australia.
Sir Michael was evacuated to Brisbane last month after developing health complications relating to a heart operation he had last year. The treatment for his condition was not available in the country and he was in a critical condition, a statement yesterday said about his evacuation for treatment.
He was initially admitted at the intensive care unit in Brisbane but was later moved to a hospital ward.
Sir Michael will continue treatment and will resume office once he has fully recovered.
Meantime, Speaker of National Parliament Theodore Zurenuoc is the acting Governor-General.
