Good ID important

Letters

THERE has been talk on the street, in the home, at work, in parliament and in the media about development and the issues surrounding it – starting from electing our representatives to trying to access goods and services.
And that has made people realise the importance of a reliable ID system.
A good ID is essential today as proven by the long queues for birth certificates and NID registration at the Civil and Identity Registry’s Office in Port Moresby.
PNG’s National Registry Office was established in the 1960s for voluntary registration.
It was not well used because people didn’t know how to use the system.
