THE director of international gospel music group Planetshakers, Ps Neil Smith is in the country to prepare for the band’s Believe PNG Tour that will be happening later this month.
This will be the band’s second visit to PNG.
Planetshakers is an international gospel band based in Melbourne, Australia.
The band is under the leadership of Ps Russell and Sam Evans.
On their first tour to PNG last year (Aug 26) they led the Repentance Day celebrations in Port Moresby.
It was a major event that attracted over 30,000 people, most were youths.
They had done a schools tour during the week leading up to the event as well as hospital and prison visits.
The group has planned more events for their tour this month.
The idea behind Believe PNG stems from a vision to partner the nation to help people to begin to believe in themselves and the abilities that God has gifted them with.
The message of the tour is that it does not matter who you are or your background or even your current situation; you can be somebody that effectively contribute to build this nation.  All you’ve got to do is believe!
The 2017 tour will include Lae and Kimbe visits too along with over 44 school visitations in Port Moresby, plus a leadership and business seminar slotted in.
Unlike the one-night only event last year, this year has three nights of celebrations all at the Sir John Guise Stadium.
The events are scheduled for Aug16 to 28.
