GRADUATES of the Lae campus of International Training Institute (ITI) were told to be good ambassadors of the institute and to pursue further
studies during their graduation last Friday.
Guest speaker Prof Subramaniyam Gopalakrishnan of the University of Technology told the graduates to have a positive mindset and be good ambassadors of ITI.
“Learning does not end here so this is not your final qualification. You should consider getting a degree if you have a diploma or you should get a diploma if you have a certificate.”
He added that enhancing one’s qualifications through further studies was possible as long as they have a positive mindset.
“Many graduating students in this country go back home and live there without making use of their qualification. I urge you all to stand up and look for a job so that you can make use of your knowledge,” he said
Gopalakrishnan told the graduates to find jobs so that they would help their parents and sponsors.
“Remember to thank your parents and lecturers who have helped and guided you to come this far. Do your best in your future endeavours so that they can be proud of you when you are successful,” he said
More than 100 students graduated with certificates, diplomas and advanced diplomas in business, accounting, sales and marketing, human resource management and information technology.
