DESPITE their 18-16 loss to the Lae Tigers last Sunday, the Gurias have one more chance of redemption and will play the Hela Wigmen on Sunday for a spot in the grand final on Sept 9.
Gurias coach Steven Nightingale believes his side was able to bounce back to the winner’s circle and at the same time he knows how tough it’ll be against a Wigmen outfit that have been impressive all season.
Nightingale is aware of their weak spots from last week and is positive his troops can improve.
“We had some weak spots in defence but we should be able to bounce back from that,” he said.
“We know we have another chance and we just have to go back to basics and fix up those areas which we need to work on for our game.”
Gurias captain Ila Alu shared similar sentiments saying despite the loss last weekend, he has confidence in his boys to be hungry for a spot in the grand final to meet the Tigers again.
“I am confident we can bounce back so we have to just go back and work on the areas we failed to come back strong.”
The 2014 premiers Wigmen who finished the regular season on third place managed to secure a spot in the preliminary final against Gurias.
