Heated affairs set for Madang

FOOTBALL fans in Madang will flock to the Laiwaden Oval to watch some exciting A-League football challenges this weekend.
The clash of the round on Sunday will see the men from PHD Compound, Mimlon, taking on Mamose in what would be a heated affair.
Mimlon, under coach Amos “Rossi” Romo, will be counting on Ray and Chester Romo to lead them up-front, while golden glove winner, Garsun Bangan, will be the last line of defence at the goal-mouth.
Mamose, on the other hand, are an unknown quantity and are expected to spring surprises on Romo’s unsuspecting men.
Kicking off at the same time on field 1, the Steven Inia-led Nabasa should provide a thrilling match when they go head-to-head with the rejuvenated Yabong Blues outfit.
In the other A-League matches on Saturday, Tusbab Blue Kumuls will call on the young brigade led by Graham Berigami, Keivi Kapia, Kimson Kapi and Hans Mapai to lead play when they go up against Kiuma FT.
Lusco will be out to maintain their winning streak when they take on Pendamon.
In the women’s competition, Panufun will come out stronger after their 8-0 loss to Nabasa Marlins last Sunday.
They will take on the Bridgitte Kadu-coached Tusbab Blue Kumuls while the star-studded Nabasa Marlins take on Patmos on Sunday.
The U20 division will see Wata FC take on Kula United, Wagsford to play Lusco, while Pendamon plays Nabasa on Saturday.
On Sunday, Mimlon take on Tusbab Blue Kumuls while Momase challenge Pendamon and Wagsford take on Yabong.
In the U16 men’s division on Saturday, Bala United from the Balasigo/Yabob area will face off with Kula United, while Nabasa take on Mimlon.
Pendamon will battle it out with Tusbab Blue Kumuls in the last game of the division.
