Help travellers, youths told

MOROBE Governor Kelly Naru has warned people living near the collapsed Busu Bridge to help travellers rather than harassing them.
He visited the bridge which was damaged last Thursday afternoon, affecting the flow of services into Boana station.
Naru told youths not to collect fees from commuters but help people cross to the other side.
“There is a population of about 15,000 affected by the collapse of the bridge, including Boana station, public servants, Boana health centre, new high school, community school and other institutions in the area,” he said.
Naru said the disaster was unfortunate and had happened when everyone was struggling to make ends meet.
“It is not man-made but a natural disaster so the Government will look into fixing the bridge,” he said.
Naru will discuss with Nawaeb MP Gisuwat Siniwin, Wain-Erap LLG president Charlie Foike and the provincial and Works Department on how to repair the bridge as quickly as possible.
