ALL disputed results in the Highlands leg of the Coca-Cola Ipatas Cup challenge will see rematches this weekend at Banning rugby league oval in Jiwaka, competition chief executive Timothy Lepa says.
Lepa said teams like the City Tigers of Western Highlands, SK Titans of Eastern Highlands and Olco Butterflies of Southern Highlands, who earned gold passes already would have to wait to see the other teams re-play their disputed games.
Lepa said all the four finals qualifiers from the Enga challenge would also have their rematches this weekend in Jiwaka as well.
The Yakuman Brothers will take on Metro Rangers and the Prum Panthers will take on the Filom A1 Hawks in the Enga draw.
For Western Highlands, Kinspe United play Nebilyer Titans the Southern Highlands leg will see the Erave Hornbill Brothers play the the Giluwe Tigers with the winner then playing the Mendi Bulldogs for the leg’s second gold pass.
Lepa said Olco Butterflies had paid a K1000 for harrassing and threatening match officials during their playoff match before getting their gold pass.
“We decided to fine the Mendi Bulldogs K1000 before releasing their gold pass because of the way their players, officials and fans behaved towards the match officials and organisers,” Lepa said.
