CHINESE mobile giant Huawei’s new head of Australian operations says there are opportunities in the local carrier and corporate markets.
Meng Xiaojie has been appointed CEO of Huawei Australian operations, taking over from Zhao Xichu as part of the company’s global practice of rotating senior staff.
Mr Meng’s most recent role was as the company’s chief executive in Pakistan.
He said Australia’s telecommunications market is very competitive but offers “strong growth opportunities.
Huawei will continue to focus on brand awareness, especially as the group launches a new smartphone and smart watch this year in Australia, Mr Meng said. – AAP
