THE Institute of Business Studies (IBS) in Port Moresby will offer four new degree courses starting next year.
The courses are Bachelor of Accounting and Finance, Bachelor of Business and Management, Bachelor of Economics and Development and Bachelor of Information and Technology.
IBS director Edward Silva said the Department of Higher Education Research Science and Technology has accredited IBS to offer the courses.
“In PNG, there are lots of students completing Grade 12 but everyone is not getting the opportunity to continue on with their studies,” said Silva.
He said IBS is hoping to make rooms available for students to study and that would be a great service to education in PNG.
IBS is also offering certificate courses which was accredited by the National Training Commission in PNG for the Grade 10 students who are not able to get into Grade 11.
“The certificate courses are 6 months courses and after that the students can apply to continue to the degree courses,” he said.
“Institute of Business Administration has really created a pathway for students in Papua New Guinea to complete their education.”
