INTERNATIONAL Training Institute’s (ITI) Lae campus held its 32nd graduation last Friday.
The graduation of 210 students, the institute’s second for the year, was based on the theme ‘Empowering tomorrow’s generation with a flexible learning environment’.
The ITI Lae campus was established in 2004 and has been operating for the last 12 years, offering certificate and diploma courses in accounting, computing, business sales, human resource management, and marketing and information technology.
ITI managing director Kumaran Sentheyval told The National that the graduating students have been certified in certificate and diploma programmes in accounting, management, human resource management and information technology.
He said they would launch a new degree programme in accounting next year.
Sentheyval said according to surveys at the institution, there was high employability of students completing training over the past years.
He said the institution also assisted students seeking employment with potential employers by providing assistance in writing curriculum vitas and other advice.
The International Training Institute’s Lae campus is the second largest in the country.
ITI Lae Campus has a total of four computer laboratory with 25 computers in each, one library with almost two hundred books and eight lecture rooms with air conditions.
ITI’s purpose is to promote continuous learning by offering a diversity of instructional approaches, encouraging learning, engaging in collaborative community service, and by empowering its constituents to become responsible citizen in an interdependent, pluralistic, global community. It has its head office in Port Moresby and other campuses in Kimbe, Kokopo, Alotau, Goroka, Kaveing and Mt Hagen.
