THE feeder road into Sopas Hospital and the School of Nursing in Wabag Central, Enga, will soon be sealed.
Public Service Minister Sir Puka Temu launched the K2.7 million two-kilometre road sealing project last Sunday at Sopas witnessed by Governor Sir Peter Ipatas, Wabag MP Robert Ganim, Nawaeb MP Gisuwat Siniwin and the people of Sopas.
Sir Puka told the people that the road sealing would boost services in the area.
“Your action governor came in and revived the services for you to benefit and very soon the road will be sealed,” he said.
Sir Puka told the people to look after basic services provided.
He said Enga was not progressing in terms of service delivery and developments.
“When I was a young doctor here in Enga 41 years ago, people used to call Enga a way-back province. But this is history now under the leadership of Sir Peter,” Sir Puka said.
Sir Peter said he spent K11 million from the provincial service improvement programme funds to rebuild the School of Nursing and the hospital.
He said AusAID assisted with K4.5 million to build a girls’ dormitory and students’ mess.
