Kramer takes Madang seat

PANGU Pati candidate Bryan Kramer has beaten sitting MP and Cabinet Minister Nixon Duban to win the Madang open seat.
Kramer polled 21,246 votes – well over the absolute majority of 19,880.
Duban managed only 12,858 votes followed  by Social Democratic Party candidate Siegfried Beschel with 5654.
Kramer signed his writ before Madang open returning office Joe Sakipa  and thanked the counting officials and security for the smooth process of the counting.
He also thanked Duban and the other
candidates who shared resources during the election.
Kramer said he broke the record by winning the Madang open seat with more than 21,000 votes which showed the people’s support for him.
“It’s not a mistake the election turned out to be this way,” Kramer said.
He gave his assurance to work with and support police and public servants.
He would start by weeding out corruption.
Kramer said Madang had been described as a murder capital and he would put in extra effort to restore peace.
He said the Pangu Pati was ready to form the government and he was ready for the first parliament sitting next week.
Meanwhile, Pangu supporters celebrated Kramer’s win by travelling in vehicles around town.
Duban’s side welcomed the defeat and left the counting venue without any fuss.
