Leaders need to lead by example

I WRITE to raise concern on the huge non-essential budgets State-owned enterprise boards and managements are allocated every year.
This is for their unnecessary national travel and international globetrotting.
Given the economic situation the country is facing, the Government must cut all unnecessary costs such as travel allowances, accommodation and meal allowances.
The Government must look closely at all SOE duty travel budgets for 2018.
Cut back on corporate budgets for board chairmen and chief executive officer travels.
The Government must look into this if they are serious about the country’s economic recovery.
Leaders must lead by example and practice what they preach.
