MISS PNG Kellyanne Limbiye is thanking everyone who has been sending her messages wishing her well in the Miss Pacific Islands contest in Samoa.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been sending me well wishes on the Miss PNG Pacific Islands Facebook page and thank those who are voting for me,” Limbiye said.
“I am truly humbled and proud to fly the red, black and gold.”
She is also happy with the support and preparation she is getting.
“I have a wonderful team to assist me. My mother and aunty are here to give me support,” she said.
The eight contestants visited the island of Savai’i as part of a Samoan government tourism promotion.
The contestants were welcomed in the traditional Samoan way by the matai (chiefs) of Faletagaloa Safune village, and the Don Bosco College.
An ava (drinking of kava) ceremony and dinner were held in honor of the contestants afterwards.
She said the trip to Savai’i had been the highlight so far.
“But of course we have the floats and the crowning night,” she said.
Samoa Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi hosted a cocktail on Wednesday at the Taumeasina Island Resort for the contestants.
The topic presentation took place yesterday at the Tanoa Tusitala Hotel where each of the eight contestants spoke for five minutes on the different issues that affected the region.
Limbiye’s presentation was on health.
