The new member for Lufa in Eastern Highlands, Moriape Vereda Kavori, has joined the Eastern Highlands camp in Goroka led by Pangu Pati leader Sam Basil.
Moriape, a Triumph Heritage Empowerment (THE) party candidate, polled 10,368 votes to be declared ahead of his nearest rival Transform PNG Party candidate Jeffery Febi who collected 6760 votes.
Speaking at his declaration this week, Kavori urged other yet-to-be-declared members from the province to be at the camp.
He thanked the people of Lufa who elected him and promised to deliver services to everyone and not only to those who voted for him.
“I will deliver services without any discrimination as I am the MP for Lufa,” Kavori said.
“I will work closely with other MPs from Eastern Highlands to serve the people.”
He said that leaders elected should not go after money but remain united and team up with Pangu and form the government.
Meanwhile,  the incumbent and People’s National Congress party candidate Benny Allan has retained his Unggai-Bena seat.
He was declared on Monday.
