I congratulate Manasseh Makiba for winning the Komo-Margarima open seat in the 2017 general election.
The win is a victory for the marginalised people of the district and, of course, a blessing for the people of Margarima, specifically.
Makiba is a lawyer and a well-respected leader with excellent leadership qualities.
He is poised to follow his late father Marabe Makiba, a former provincial member who had demonstrated a colourful leadership.
The majority of the people have vested the trust and confidence in Manasseh’s leadership.
We believe he will provide a fair and transparent leadership to allow all the people in the district to benefit.
We encourage all who contested the seat to work with the new MP for the good of our people, resources, district and the province.
Manasseh brings with him a wealth of experience after working as a legal manager with Mineral Resources Development Corporation before deciding to step down and contest the election.
He is an Independent and has a good chance of being in government.
