Mamose centre to host course

Sports

The High Performance Sport PNG Mamose Centre of Excellence is geared up to run its share of sport courses.
Aquatics instructor Lambert Vure said the course for the Momase region had been a long time coming and the sporting fraternity would be excited and enthusiastic to participate.
“It is early at this stage but slowly and surely responses are coming in,” Vure said.
“Knowing Morobeans, word will spread through different means and ways.
“The importance and understanding of the skills required by volunteers and officials from respective codes, helps them carry out their duties to the fullest and the best practice, which in turn helps them bring up their level of confidence.”
The Oceania Sport Education (OSEP) Strength and Conditioning (S&C) Community coach programme is a three-day programme that will be held from Aug 16-18 followed a day later by the sports strapping course.
Both programmes will be held at the Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium with the OSEP S&C community coach programme to run from 9am-4pm each day while the sports strapping course will be from 9am-12pm.
The skills to be learnt are vital for all sports team coaches and trainers and for anyone who has a sporting background.
Spaces are limited with the community coach course to allow 24 participants while the strapping course will have 30 participants on a first-come-first-serve basis.
