Man charged over alleged assault fails to appear in court

THE case of a man who allegedly assaulted a lawyer has been adjourned when he failed to appear in court.
Waigani Committal Court Magistrate Mekeo Gauli last week adjourned the case against Seth Fose, 42, to tomorrow.
Fose was charged with grievous bodily harm after he allegedly assaulted lawyer Adam Ninkama, 34, at the Baret Club in East Boroko on Oct 29.
Police allege that Ninkama was trying to drive out from a home inside the club premises but was blocked by a vehicle.
He came out of his car and asked that the vehicle be moved to the side so that he could drive through.
Fose allegedly punched Ninkama and eight others joined in attacking the lawyer.
Ninkama was taken to the Pacific International Hospital and later to the Port Moresby General Hospital.
A medical report from the Port Moresby General Hospital confirmed that he had injuries to his right ankle and nose.
Fose was brought to the Boroko Police Station on Oct 31 where he was charged with one count of assault occasioning bodily harm.
He was released from custody on police bail.
