Man in court for allegedly assulting lawyer

A MAN appeared at the Waigani Committal Court on Tuesday charged with assaulting of a lawyer.
Seth Fose, 42, from Koaru village in the Malaloua district of Gulf, was alleged to have assaulted Adam Ninkama earlier this month at the Baret Club in East Boroko, Port Moresby.
Magistrate Mekeo Gauli read the charges to Fose and told him that he would have to wait for police to complete the investigations. Police claimed that Ninkama was allegedly punched by Fose after he asked Fose to move his car from the driveway at the Baret Club on Nov 7.
Ninkama was allegedly punched and kicked repeatedly by Fose and others who were with him.
According to a medical report, Ninkama suffered a fracture in his ankle, a broken nose and other injuries from the alleged incident. Gauli ordered the matter to return to court on Jan 23. Fose’s bail was extended.
Meanwhile, Gauli ordered a man charged with causing grievous bodily harm to report to police during Christmas and New Year if they require information to complete investigation on the matter.
David Mori was alleged to have hit Jerry Weri at the Gerehu police station on Nov 14.
Gauli ordered the matter to return to court on Jan 23.
