Man in court on Pepsi charge

A Central man charged with stealing more than 6000 cartons of Pepsi brand soft drinks belonging to his employer in Port Moresby appeared at the Waigani Committal Court yesterday.
Vincent Kema from Gaire village, Kairuku-Hiri, appeared before Senior Magistrate Cosmas Bidar for arraignment.
The court heard that from June 8 to July 5, 2017, Kema was employed as the inventory manager of Kalibobo Trading Wantok Enterprise Limited at the Palme Logistics yard, Dogura, at 6-Mile, Port Moresby.
It was alleged that he stole 6127 cartons of Pepsi valued at K196,064 belonging to his employer.
Kema said he understood the allegations made against him by police when Bidar read the charge to him.
The case was adjourned to Oct 2 for police to complete their investigations.
Kema is out on a police bail of K4000.
