Man laid to rest, buried with old newspapers

A MAN well-known in Goroka as a newspaper circulation man and reporter has been buried with old newspapers as per his request.
Harry Rambi was laid to rest at his Seven-Mile home outside Goroka, Eastern Highlands.
Rambi and wife Joyce sold The National in Lae for many years.
Relative Peter Kelaga said Rambi had been associated with the newspapers as a reporter in Goroka in the 1970s.
Because of this long association, “he wanted his relatives to place old newspapers in his grave”.
“We honoured his request when we buried him,” Kelaga said.
He was a former primary school teacher.
Rambi hailed from Kenagi village in Watabung, Daulo.
He is survived by wife Joyce, two sons, three daughters and six grandchildren.
