THE Morobe education division condemned the death of a Grade 10 student from Bumayong Secondary School last Friday during a fight with fellow students.
Grade 10 examinations began on Monday.
The student of Sepik and Kabwum parentage was stabbed and then rushed to Angau Memorial Hospital but was pronounced death on arrival.
A fellow Grade 10 student has been arrested in connection with the death.
Provincial education assistant Berei Karo said he was sad by the fact that the death took place just before examinations were to start.
“Provincial education division and boards have been condemning school fights and inter-school fights. Such incidences are unacceptable,” Karo said.
“In such circumstances, especially stabbing and killing, it is definitely a police matter hence the education division cannot interfere.”
