CHAIRMAN of Motu-Koita Rugby League, Dai Boe says the running of the association this year will push for changes.
Boe said for too long, raw talent in rugby league from the Motu-Koita villages in Central and NCD had been neglected in the code’s pathway programmes.
Boe believes that with an existing league running its competitions this year, these talent from Motu-Koita would earn the opportunity to excel and contribute to the Digicel Cup and the Hunter’s programme.
“We are going to use rugby league as a vehicle for change in our communities. We are proud to see players like Kato Ottio and Sailas Gahuna play for the Hunters as Motu-Koita players but we would like to see the number increase,” Boe said. Competitions for the league will be played at the Murray Barracks Oval in Port Moresby.
