KABWUM MP Bob Dadae is putting up his hand to be a contender for the position of governor-general when Sir Michael Ogio’s term ends next month.
He told people at the Saga mission station in Bia-Waria, Garaina, Bulolo, Morobe, last Sunday that if successful, he would become the first man from Morobe to fill that position.
Dadae was accompanying Bulolo MP Sam Basil to witness the closing of Garaina circuit conference last Sunday.
He said Sir Michael’s term would end next month.
Dadae said Morobe people had never held the position so he wanted to be the first. Prime Minister Peter O’Neill is aware of his plan.
Basil said Dadae was a veteran politician in Morobe having served for 15 years as an MP. “I have sincere respect for Dadae as veteran Morobe MP who has credible reputation and credentials for the post.
“I respect his intention and commend him to take the challenge.”
