MP gives K155,000 to local association

USINO-Bundi MP Anton Yagama has given K155,000 to a community association launched last week in the electorate.
Tsembaga Community Development Association chairman Wilford Kinanai, consultant Erich Hansin, and the people of Tsembaga thanked Yagama for the funding.
Hansin said it would assist the new association to achieve the development aspirations of the community.
“We thank the MP for the massive support. Community development associations are the only means where basic government services can reach the people,” Hansin said.
He said MPs often call on people to organise themselves so that through the District Development Authority structure, the bottom-up model could be implemented to trigger development at the ward levels.
“As a consultant, I am working with all the communities in Usino and Gama LLG,” he said.
“We will be launching 18 associations.
“This is one of them. On Dec 18, we’ll launch a landowners association at Mopo Primary School in Usino.”
“I am asking for the support of the MP towards community development associations because this is the only way services can reach everyone fairly and equitably.”
He thanked Yagama for allocating K89,000 to all the church groups in the Usino and Gama LLGs and for distributing roofing irons to churches from Ramu River to Kombako.
Hansin also a secondary school teacher, said people needed better road condition to transport their coffee to factories.
